Whitelisted Java Edition Minecraft Servers
Check access requirements before choosing a community.Compare Java communities that ask players to be approved before joining. Read the application process, expected activity and world rules before requesting access. A whitelist controls admission; it does not automatically mean a small, peaceful or closely moderated server.

A closer look at this directory
This directory currently has 557 servers. The 20 shown on this page include 20 declaring Java support and 8 declaring Bedrock support; 8 declare both. Listings supporting both editions appear in both counts.
Tags on these listings: BedWars, crossplay, Factions, OneBlock, Prison, SkyBlock, SkyWars, Survival.
Declared version groups: 26, 1.8, 1.21, 1.2, 1.7, 1.18. What version labels mean.
Choose the group before applying
An allowlist, often called a whitelist, limits who can connect. A community might invite friends, review an application or speak with applicants first. Check the owner's process rather than assuming that copying the IP is enough.
For a long-term world, practical expectations matter. Look for usual play times, build-spacing rules, shared-farm agreements and policies for inactive players. Approval is more useful when you know what participation involves.
Before requesting Java whitelist access
Use the official application route
Follow the community's application link and provide the requested Java profile name. Account passwords and sign-in codes do not belong in an application.
Understand who is being approved
Ask whether each friend needs a separate application. Approval for one account or world is not automatically permission for a group or an entire network.
Read shared-world agreements
Check land boundaries, resource sharing, PvP consent and public-build rules. Admission controls do not replace clear agreements once you are inside.
Check inactivity policies
Find out whether inactive members lose access, whether builds remain and how to return after a break. Choose a community that fits your schedule.

Java whitelist applications and access
Why am I not whitelisted after being accepted?
Confirm that staff added the correct Java account and that you used the intended address. Share the exact disconnect message; application approval and updating the access list may happen separately.
Does an online server have to let me join?
No. A status response can show that the server is running while access remains restricted. Player counts are not an admission check.
Is a whitelist the same as a server password?
No. An allowlist identifies permitted accounts; a shared password is a different mechanism. Some communities add registration or verification, so follow their process.
Will approval carry over after a reset or name change?
Ask the community. Membership policies and account systems differ; confirm continued access before changing your profile or returning for a new season.
Does whitelisting prevent griefing?
It limits who enters, but approval is not a guarantee of behaviour. Read reporting, backup and protection policies as well as application requirements.
Project documentation: Paper: whitelist account records. Server-specific settings and access rules still come from the community.
