Factions servers organize players into competing groups, often with land claims, shared resources and raiding. The crucial details are how claims can be lost, when attacks are allowed, and how a new group catches up. Compare the season rules before recruiting a team.

What to check on a Factions server
Learn claim loss
Power, upkeep or other systems may determine whether land stays protected. Ask what happens after deaths, inactivity or a member leaving, and how enemies can take a claim.
Read the raid rules
Explosives, cannons, offline attacks and protected hours can have separate restrictions. Find out which defenses are allowed and what evidence moderators require when a raid breaks the rules.
Check the season stage
A new map and a mature season offer different starting conditions. Look for a published reset schedule and confirm whether ranks, balances or rewards carry forward.
Protect team access
Assign only the permissions members need. Shared storage, claim management and invitations can expose the entire faction if every recruit receives full control.

Factions server FAQs
What is a faction?
It is a player group with a shared identity and server-defined permissions or territory. The plugin and rules determine how membership, claims and diplomacy work.
Can I play without joining a faction?
Some servers allow independent play, but protection and progression may favor groups. Check solo restrictions and whether new players can join recruiting factions.
Can claimed land still be raided?
Yes, depending on claim strength, explosives and the server’s raid mechanics. A claim is not automatically a guarantee that a base cannot be damaged or entered.
What does a map reset remove?
It may remove the world, claims, inventories or balances. The owner’s reset announcement should specify each category and any rewards that persist.
Are alliances allowed?
Check the season rules. Team-size limits may include allies, shared bases or informal cooperation, even when the faction plugin technically permits it.
How does OP Factions differ?
It usually offers stronger equipment or faster progression. The exact enchantments, raid tools and economy vary, so compare the actual item and claim rules.
