What to check on a Feed The Beast server
Identify the full pack
Record the pack name, release number and Minecraft version. Two servers tagged FTB can require entirely different installations and offer very different progression.
Check client resources
Read the pack’s requirements and the server’s recommendations before allocating memory or adding visual mods. A large multiplayer base can be more demanding than a fresh local world.
Review machine restrictions
Chunk loaders, quarrying, automation and entity counts may have limits. Check the restricted-item list before building a progression route around a machine.
Plan shared progression
Quests, teams and claims can use separate systems. Test how rewards and permissions work before joining or merging a group with established progress.

Feed The Beast server FAQs
Is there one Feed The Beast modpack?
No. FTB publishes multiple packs. The tag is a starting point; the exact pack and version determine what you need to install.
Can I join with any FTB pack?
No. Match the server’s named pack and release, including any required changes.
Are quests always included?
Not every pack or server uses the same quest structure. Check whether progression is guided or open-ended.
Why is a machine disabled?
A server may restrict items for performance, exploits or balance. Consult its item rules before investing materials in a recipe.
Can my team share quest rewards?
That depends on the pack and server configuration. Check party behavior and whether joining a team changes existing progress.
Should I install the newest pack release?
Install the release supported by the server. Updating ahead of it can make your client incompatible.
